This Questionaire was developed for our customers. It is
designed to assist you in making intelligent decisions about the need
for an Insurance Discount (also known as a " Wind Certification")
inspection.

- Have you
submitted paperwork to your insurance company documenting the features
of your home that contribute to windstorm protection. (roof shape, roof
attachment technique, gable end bracing, roof deck attachment,
secondary water barrier, roof truss to wall attachment, protection for
windows (glazed openings & skylights)

yes, an inspection may not be required. Have the customer contact their
insurance company to determine what specific features their insurance
rates are
based upon).
- If no
paperwork has been submitted to the customer’s insurance
company, recommend that the customer contact their insurance company
and request any specific forms that they may require to qualify for
windstorm mitigation credits.
- Our
inspection will document the areas that the insurance industry uses to
certify specific features entitling homeowners to the lowest available
insurance rates
- We will
perform an inspection for $150 using either the insurance
companies’ forms or our hurricane protection inspection
forms. Our inspectors are all State of Florida
certified wind entity inspectors.
- Florida
law requires insurance companies to offer premium reductions for
certain windstorm protection features. This discount applies to the
windstorm portion of the premium only and varies from company to
company. Documentation from manufacturers and/or contractors are
required by some insurance companies and will assist in achieving
discounts.
